Brendon EnergyA community co-operative set-up to establish local renewable energy schemes
Heathfield Community School Taunton
In the October half term of 2015 the flat roofs of Heathfield Community School became the 9th Brendon Energy power station and the first one in Taunton. The 164 solar panels should produce 41kW. This will not only significantly reduce the school electricity bill but will also help produce renewable power and generate an operating profit that can be fed back into the local community.
A community co-operative (registered as an Industrial and Provident Society for community benefit) set-up in 2011 to establish local renewable energy schemes. Our projects generate clean power, provide a return to investors and all profits are invested in new projects and donated to benefit the local community.
