Brendon Energy currently has nine community owned power stations with several more in development.
Our first project was to install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on the south-facing roof of
Subsequent solar pv projects have been developed with the help of Transition Town Wellington, Transition Taunton and North Curry Community Energy. The Naturesave Trust has also given grant aid to BE to help publicise the co-op and its development.
We continue to work on and look for new solar projects on local community buildings. With the reduction in solar feed-in tariffs the returns are not as good as they were, but, for the right projects, a community solar installation can still cover its costs, benefit the building users and allow more power to be generated from a renewable resource. Please get in touch if you have a project you would like us to consider. We will be pleased to hear from you.
